What is Oxygen-Ozone Therapy?

Oxygen-Ozone Therapy is one of the most advanced and natural treatments in the field of integrative medicine. It uses a controlled mixture of oxygen and ozone to oxygenate tissues, stimulate anti-inflammatory processes, and neutralize oxidative stress—one of the main causes of cellular aging and chronic diseases.

Medical ozone works because of its properties:

  • Anti-inflammatory
  • Pain relievers
  • Antioxidants
  • Muscle relaxants
  • Bactericides, virucides, and fungicides
  • Tissue Regeneration
  • Improvements in cellular oxygenation

Before beginning a course of oxygen-ozone therapy, we assess the patient’s oxidative stress levels and the body’s endogenous ability to reduce them. These assessments allow us to choose the best treatment plan for the patient, aimed at restoring their overall well-being as quickly as possible.

How is ozone therapy administered?

Ozone therapy can be performed using different methods of administration. Two main approaches are generally distinguished: the systemic approach, carried out through major autohemotherapy (MAH) or rectal administration, and the local approach, which includes intramuscular or subcutaneous injections and the direct application of medical ozone to the areas to be treated.

In our clinic, we also frequently use ozonated water. We produce water enriched with controlled concentrations of ozone, which can be used as support in specific clinical conditions and, upon medical indication, in cases of Helicobacter pylori infection, gastritis, constipation, and other gastrointestinal disorders.

Is ozone therapy a safe practice?

Oxygen-ozone therapy, when performed by qualified medical personnel and in accordance with protocols and guidelines, is generally considered a safe procedure. When used at the correct concentrations, medical ozone is not toxic, and any side effects are generally mild and temporary.

How many sessions are required?

The number of sessions varies depending on the condition, its severity, and the therapeutic goals. The treatment plan is defined by the physician for each individual patient.
